Where is your shop located?

We do not have a storefront, therefore you cannot visit our shop. We only deliver and pick-up boards to your location. Delivery and Pick up are FREE!

Where do you deliver the boards to?

We deliver to anywhere on Maui except for Hana. We can deliver the board/s to your hotel, resort or  vacation rental, with the exception of state parks and properties.

Do I need to be there for delivery & pickup?

Yes, we ask you to be present at the delivery time so we can instruct you and have you sign the rental release agreement. We also ask you to be present for pick-up.

Where can I store my board/s?

Most of Maui’s hotels and resorts have a facility for storing boards. Please make sure to confirm with your hotel or resort staff.

Can I transport the boards on my rental car and do you provide racks & straps?

Yes, you can strap the boards on almost any kind of rental car. We provide FREE universal racks and straps with every rental, and we will instruct you how to use them.

Do I need to book my rental ahead of time?

We always recommend booking ahead of time, especially during high seasons. We work on a first come first served basis. Booking ahead will ensure availability and probability for accommodating your personal needs.

When do I pay for the rental?

When booking your reservation we ask you to pay a $50 security deposit, the remaining balance of your rental will be charged only after the delivery.

What are the payment methods?

We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discovery Credit Cards. We also accept cash. When booking online you will be prompted to pay a $50 security deposit via PayPal. If you don’t have a PayPal account we will contact you for your Credit Card information and charge you the security deposit.

How do I choose my board?

We know that having the right board is crucial to your pleasant and successful experience. Our staff at Island Surfboard Rentals are all experienced water man and we will make sure to match you with the right board.
When filling our online reservation form, you will be asked for some basic personal information (weight, experience level) that will help us determine which board will suite your needs. You are always welcome to call us for consultation.

How do I reserve a specific board?

When booking online using our reservation, in the 4th (Check Out) step, you will have a “Notes” text box, where you can enter specific instructions or requests. You can also call us and ask for a specific board.

Why do you recommend upgrading to a carbon paddle?

Carbon paddles are much lighter and stiffer! Using a carbon paddle will make your paddle boarding experience more pleasant whether you are a beginner or an experienced paddle boarder.

Can I switch boards during my rental?

We always try to accommodate any request that you might have, we want you to feel happy with your gear. If you let us know the board is not the right fit we will find a way to get you on a board that is more suitable for your personal needs.

What happens if I damage my board?

Don’t worry, dings happen. Please let us know as soon as you suspect any damage that can allow water into the board. Cosmetic issues are less important but on the occasion that your board gets a crack or gouge please let us know, we will replace the the board and ask you to cover the cost of the repair (average ding repairs are between $50-$120).

Do I need a lesson to do paddle boarding?

Paddle boarding is very easy! When we deliver the board/s to you we will give you a basic paddle boarding lesson, and you are good to go! Also, our beginner boards are very stable and will make your first paddle boarding experience nice and easy.
